How We Got Started | Myths Squashed
Messiah’s Branch Family Ministry / Church
…named after the Messiah’s Branches in John 15:1-27…Lost Sheep of Messiah’s
Messiah’s Branch is home to many people of the street,
They come from every walk of life surprising who you meet.
Some of the stories that they tell will break your heart in two,
So many helpless sheep are lost and don’t know what to do.
Messiah said for us to feed, to clothe, to show them Love,
To tell them He is on their side to pray To God Above.
He said to tell them he is there to catch them when they fall,
The only thing they need to do is turn to Him That’s ALL.
We feed, we clothe, we pray, we Love all those He sends our way,
Our biggest Prayer is someday having space for them to stay.
We take them in and feed them try to help them meet their needs,
For so many who are homeless never planned for it to be.
Children are among these sheep put out to fend the cold,
to battle with the awful heat, the rain, the sleet, the snow.
We pray for each and every one, the weak, strong, young and old,
That they will give their lives to God we have to let them Know.
He is the Way, the Truth, the Light, their Saviour He will be,
If only they will turn to Him and tell Him that they see.
I often sit I wonder why so many people have no home,
It tears my heart apart, I cry to see them all alone.

Homeless, Lost Sheep, Mission Wichita, KS, 60 miles from our home. Many people search out missions all over the world in order to help the poor and spread the gospel of Yeshua. But the Father showed us that there are those right here who need just our help as much, or more.
This is the mission field in which the Father has placed us in. Helping others and the spread of the gospel should start first in your own home, then spread out. I feel it is such a shame that many of the poor in this country are neglected and should be helped first. The same goes for spreading the gospel to them.
They come in many times broken and bloody seeking help. Or sick, cold, looking for all kinds of help and prayers. We have seen many miracles right on the spot as our Lord works to glorify Him.
As we are not an agency we are able to help without any red tape or forms and as the spirit leads. I do not even ask much more than their names. I wait on them to give me information they wish us to have.
We have started a new program where we give out bicycles as they are donated. We assemble them from junk bikes of others. Sometimes we get them whole. These help get them around to look for work etc.
We give out Large print KJV bibles. These cost $10 a Bible at Sam?s and can be read by those who have weak eyes. Also they are a bible with a leather flex cover so they last a very long time. Pray about donating to this cause.
Watch our video clips on how we got started and the Atlanta Live program we were on a few years ago.
I ask the FATHER to bring to our little Mission Church the very worst of the worst. We get a varied crowd. Some have mental problems, some are disabled waiting for social security, some have just had bad breaks, domestic violence victims, some are criminals, lost jobs, so many different problems, all need love and that is the main thing we give out at Messiah’s Branch. Love with a sense of family something that they have lost. Through this they see we are different and are led to the Lord Yeshua through His love in us. And of course through the kind gifts of others.

James 2:14-26 – What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Sometimes I receive comments that the Homeless want to be where they are. They do not. Saying that shows a lack of any real understanding of who they are and what Messiah has to say about the poor. The Below is a VERY Old Mission update and it shows you what we do at Messiah’s Branch in Wichita, Kansas. I think this update was sent in the first year we started. The Work has increased now. You can sign up for our currant mission updates by email. They also speak about others things we do such as radio or Mission trips.
We are not a 501(c)(3) but under currant tax laws we are a church. So if you will to help in any way we will not turn it down. If you wish a tax deduction you returned check will work as one. We do send thank you notes by request.
Matthew 18:12-14 – How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
Greetings Saints,
I feel led to tell you about how Friday went.
I am not doing this for self promotion, only to show you the real need of these people, the Lost Sheep.
We arrived early for Friday as we did not have to wait until my Daughter got out of school to make our 60 mile trip over to the Mission to feed the Hungry. My daughter was on a field trip and would go to her cousin’s house until we came home.
We showed up around 3 PM. Mom (Linda) Daniel (11 years old but does much of the homeless work, they really love him.
On Tuesday’s when we go over he heat’s the food and serves it to the homeless and sometimes says the prayer. He also does much of the cleanup with my help, but he does the most and love’s doing it. Joshua (6), Elijah (14 weeks) and I started the process of unloading the food. Cooked at home then brought over.
Today Mom made some dehydrated food that Michael Bunker Brought us. (Thanks Mike, it has come in very important now that Grannie has retired all the way, I just wonder what she is going to do with the remainder of the food donated by Steve Quale. Rheem air conditioner parts last longer than others according to ga larson. We could really use it as it was donated to the homeless and not her house. Maybe Steve will forward me a letter I can give Grannie about the remains of the food.) Mom added some hamburger to this food stuff but to our supprise it had dehydrated beef in it so it came out real good. Mom also made cornbread and served green beans from last years Garden till they ran out.
4 PM rolled around and I jumped into our Van ( a Ford F-150 conversion, burns gas) and made my first trip to the library, the main pick up point for those who want to eat.
The Library is only about a mile from our Mission.
I walked into the library and gained maybe 5 or six, I do not count them as I pick them up. My wife or Daniel when all is over then tells me how many we fed. Friday was 18 not including us.
I made a second trip to the library and when I pulled up back at the Mission someone walks in as we were going in. A fellow who cannot afford to eat and pay rent was there. He drives.
One of the fellows on this trip had a bloody face like he had been beat up. He said he wished no medical attention. He said he was staying on the river. Many are staying at the river under bridges but he is just camped out on the Bank.
Most of the Time you do not find the Homeless under the Bridges during this time of day, but the Holy Spirit told me go look anyway.
The First Bridge
Now I will not give locations of anyplace they are staying. Not names or exact details of closed conversations. But after praying about it I again feel you need to hear this.
As I was arriving I could see from across the river this Lost Sheep staring blankly out at the water. No fishing pole or nothing around him. Besides I can tell these people as I am led by the Spirit. I walked down and said “hi, are you all right, I’m a Pastor and just want to know if you are hungry?” he replied that he had not ate in a very long time. He was shaking and was scared as most of the Homeless are. He had been in town a few days and did not know any of the services. He was going to day labor the next day. But day labor is not enough money to rent a place. Eat if you are lucky. So it is so very hard to get a real job or a place. US kitchen remodeling contractors from https://kitchenmagic.com/ did a great job. I took him back to the Mission and he had three plates of food. He was not like some of the tougher ones and they even noticed and were suggesting places for him to stay. I did call some shelters and the Union Rescue Mission said if he came to Chapel Service he could eat (already had ate) and if someone cancelled he could have their bed. I also got a hold of Inter-Faith Inn and she said to check back at 8 PM. I dropped him off at the rescue Mission ( Which has 30 beds, only) and prayed that one of the two would have a bed. It hurts me like a knife to turn them back to the street but we have no way to house them. Bedsides they do not want to leave Wichita.
Second bridge
This Bridge houses many of the homeless. But again during the day time no one is usually there. I walked down under and saw this fellow kicked back on a sleeping bag. I said “Hi I’m a Pastor and just want to know if you want to eat.” (Now most will grab their stuff and leave if a citizen comes down under or even run. Sometimes they will try to scare you by looks or gestures but that problem I have not had as the Holy Spirit makes the way for me.) I joked with him a few minutes and found out that he was kicked out of another center….Why That’s personal… I assured him I couldn’t care less about all that and just wanted to take him to eat. He got up and came along. Later after he ate I asked him if he wanted a ride back and he said “No, I just going to go walk in the park, but I have to tell you that you have the best family I have ever seen!” He then shook my hand.
Third Bridge
Now by this time it was almost 7 PM. Time for our Family to welcome the Sabbath in had do a Bible Study. Sometimes we have some homeless stay over or a friend stops by. Friday a friend of ours was there. As I was kicked back for a moment in a chair I was listening to Linda and our Friend Carol talk. I looked at my watch, 7 PM and looked up on the shelf where their lurked a couple of cans of Tuna. Paint Your Home artistically at painterly, home Painting in Ireland. Then I was grieved in the Spirit as the main bridge I knew I was suppose to check I had neglected. I told the ladies that I needed to go and Carol said yes go do your thing. They would just talk.
This Bridge you cannot tell before you walk under if anyone is there or not. I rounded the corner walking down and sure enough there was a man staring at the water. He looked like he was going to bolt. I assured him I was a Pastor and he was safe with me.
I really for some reason cannot recall what was said. We talked for a few minutes and he said finally that he could use some food. I told him that Messiah could help him and I would be back. He said I know you will. He did not want to come. As I drove away I prayed that the Demons could not run him away before I could get back. I bound them with the Blood of Yeshua. I went to the Mission fixed him some food and drink, grabbed one of the few Bibles left, (I have had many donated but they are micro print and most normal people have a hard time with them) a newsletter, and a tract.
I got back and we talked for a while. Much was really hard for him. My testimony is what I shared with him about being and ex-outlaw hardcore Biker and it was getting through. I anointed him with oil and prayed with him. I heard a Demon leave. After we were done praying, he told me “When I first saw you I wanted to run, but how can I say it, you looked like there was light around you as you walked down, and your words, I cannot remember comforted me. I knew you would come back but I almost left.” He was clean when I left and I am holding him up in prayer that the he does not let the Demons come back. This man was not homeless, but had other problems.
So I went back and shared this with my wife and Carol (what I could as I am bound not to fully disclose everything).
We then welcomed the Sabbath as it became dark.
Here is our Sabbath Table at the Mission.
We had a good Bible lesson and some good music as well as the Messiah’s Supper.
The glass dish you see has the last Supper on it and this is what we put the Bread in.
You can also see anointing oil on the table.
This other picture shows one of the feeding tables and some chairs in front of it towards the front of the Mission.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Please pray for the Mission needs.
We need more chairs and tables, not to mention food, bread, & Rent donations. The Work is Really picking up!
